Bridging Technical Expertise and Public Engagement at Danube Day
Every year, Danube Day brings together diverse organizations to educate children and families about the river’s ecosystem. I initiated a strategic rethink of our outreach concept, shifting the focus toward making abstract engineering work tangible for young visitors. Working collaboratively within the team, I developed a series of modular tools – including custom information boards, a thematic coloring book, and an educational kit – designed to make technical surveying accessible.
This new approach allows the team to offer deeper insights into the essential work behind environmental projects, successfully inspiring the next generation of young researchers, particularly girls, to explore future careers in engineering and spatial science.
